Sandoval works with Treasurer’s office to compensate residents with unclaimed life insurance proceeds

CHICAGO, IL – Senator Martin A. Sandoval is proud to announce that after working with State Treasurer Michael W. Frerichs, over $800,000 in unclaimed life insurance proceeds since 2015 have been paid to residents in the 11th Senate District, which includes the South Side of Chicago and parts of West Suburban Cook, represented by Senator Sandoval.

Illinois drivers banned from using hand-held phones

Chicago, Illinois -Governor Pat Quinn signed two bills into law aimed to reduce accidents caused by distracted drivers.

Drivers in Illinois are no longer allowed to use hand-held mobile phones, and penalties have been increased for those who cause an accident because they were using these devices.

Starting January 1, 2014 motorists are prohibited from using a mobile phone or any other communication device. Hands-free devices are an exception, including those with headsets that can make a call using just one button, or a voice command.

Sandoval Forges a new partnership in Riverside

Riverside, Illinois -Senator Martin Sandoval (D-11) toured the business district along Burlington St., with newly elected President Sells, in The Village of Riverside.

Public Meeting on School Budget Cuts

BRIGHTON PARK - Over 500 residents attend a public meeting at Shields Elementary School, 43rd & Rockwell on July 17th which was organized by the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council regarding the budget cuts that were proposed by Chicago Public Schools. Several elected officals were present, including State Senator Martin Sandoval, Cook County Commissioner Jesus Garcia, Alderman Toni Foukes, and two representatives form CPS, Family and Community Engagement representative Phil Hampton and Pershing Network vice-president Julio Contreras.

Newly renovated Community Care Clinic in Little Village

Chicago, Illinois - Community leaders, patients and residents gathered at the Little Village plaza on Aug. 3 in an open house event as Saint Anthony Hospital that introduced its newly renovated Community Care Clinic located on 3059 W. 26th St. In partnership with Esperanza Health Center, Sonrisa Family Dental and with the support of community leaders and participants, Saint Anthony Hosptial was able to lease the 18,000-square-foot area, formerly known as the Department of Health City Clinic.

Senator Sandoval Brings $1.5 Million to Senka Park

Chicago, Illinois – Senator Sandoval, who led the fight in 1997 to convert the old railroad yard into the current forty million dollar Senka-Sandoval school-park campus, today announced a 1.5 million facelift to the park. Both Alderman Burke and Zalewski along with the Senka-Sandoval Community Council, represented by Vice President Martin Sandoval II and VP of Infrastructure and Facilities Mike Perez, supported Senator Sandoval.
